Statement

Ian is a Dorset based graphite artist. He specialises in portraits but also takes inspiration from the Dorset countryside, particularly the sea and the coast.

Ian aims for authenticity in his work: authenticity of medium, by leaving pencils marks visible, and authenticity in the portrayal of the subject. His work is mindful, gentle, contemplative and optimistic.

He is a member of several art societies in the southwest and an associate member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art.
