Breaking Point was composed utilising elements from a series of photos taken on repeat exposure, during a a summer storm at Rye Harbour, East Sussex. The sky was painted from my memory and learnt observation. Painted on Fabriano Artistico NOT paper, using both wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques. Painted in tones of grey with parts of the paper left white or masked for the surf, while some highlights were painted with opaque white watercolour. Framed in a contemporary Grey/Blue frame with thick and thin double white mounts.
